To bring happiness and transformation to Orang Asli Community by providing them with safe and sustainable housing.

Indigenous people are considered as guardians of nature, typically the forest. They are committed in caring and giving back to the nature that served them since birth as a place of dependency in enriching their lives. Due to a widespread discrimination, the indigenous community make up to 15% of the world’s extreme poverty.

Indigenous community are found to be living under poorly maintained places which is described as “homes”, most of their lives. Vulnerability of these homes can be seen interms of structure and poor maintenance which at times cost them a place to stay during heavy downpour.

YMFH’s journey to build a sustainable house for Orang Asli families begins in December 2022 whereby we first collaborated with EPIC Homes and has successfully completed to build a modular house. This has inspired us to build our own concept of house which is the basic brick house with 3 bedrooms, a kitchen, living room and toilet.

In line with our foundation’s objective to assist the lower income group in obtaining their first home, we aspire to build more safer and sustainable house for these indigenous group of community whom have least capability to own a safer and sustainable
house.

The response and demand for housing among the Orang Asli community have been overwhelming with over 250 families and individuals mainly throughout our central and north regent whom eagerly seeking our assistance. In year 2022, we have begun constructions on six houses which we aim to replace dilapidated bamboo houses with sturdy concrete ones.

Our very initial built is located in Muadzam Syah, Pahang. We aim to provide more improved more hygiene and comfort living to a safer home. We have successfully handover the new build house to En.Chaman and family on 13th December, 2023.

In order to build more houses and to impact the well being of our Orang Asli community, we enthusiastically welcome any individual, corporate, NGO, and government parties whom wishes to collaborate with us.

Together we could establish more houses, giving back these indigenous people a more comfort and safe place to inhabit amidst the forest.
